Fredrik’s arrival
On 1st February, Fredrik Ahlback joined the Rabjohns Marketing Team. Fredrick is a final year marketing student at the University of Halmstad in Sweden. As part of his course he is required to undertake a 12-week work placement.
Here Fredrik gives us his insight into his experience with Rabjohns…
My name is Fredrik Ahlback and I am 23 years old. I am currently based in Worcester where I am undertaking a 12 week internship with Rabjohns LLP. I live in Sweden in a town named Halmstad, where I’m studying marketing at the University.
I grew up in Helsingborg, a town in southern Sweden, the same town as ex Manchester United and FC Barcelona player Henrik Larsson.
I am currently in the final semester of my Marketing degree. This last semester is almost solely focused on a work-based internship. The University of Worcester operates an exchange programme with the University of Halmstad and facilitates business based placements for students who wish to undertake this internship. When we received the list of companies participating in the exchange, the best students were able to choose their preferred company first. There was no doubt that I was going to choose Rabjohns.
I believe that when you study hard and receive good marks you will benefit. I was delighted that I obtained the place that I wanted, as I believed that Rabjohns was going to be the best company to undertake my internship. Today I know that Rabjohns IS the best place!
My opinion is that Rabjohns is a forward thinking organisation who encourage fresh thinking particularly in relation to their branding and corporate image. What I am most pleased about is that they have confidence in me, which is making my internship so much more instructive. Everyone at Rabjohns is of course very professional and competent and I have so much to learn from them. But when they actually let me practice and take my own initiative and rely on me, that is worth so much more for me and my future career.
My first week started with a two-day induction programme which really helped me to understand Rabjohns and the environment in which it operates.
On day three I was asked to attend an Institute of Directors seminar about Quick Win Digital Marketing being held in Birmingham! It was a very interesting and instructive seminar, in a beautiful building with a fantastic view over the whole of Birmingham, with many marketing managers and me, the student from Sweden! It was a really valuable experience.
I am extremely interested in the emergence of social media marketing and its business impact. I am currently researching different social networks and the part they could play in the Rabjohns marketing strategy.
I am also responsible for producing this edition of iq so I hope you enjoy it!
